Procurement

HISTORY:-Establishment of the Supdt. of Police (Procurement) came into existence vide Govt. of Tripura Notification No. F.10 (3)-GA(P&T)/94 Dated 09/05/2000. Prior to this the establishment was in the designation of the Commandant (Provisioning) vide Notification No. F.2 (41)-GA/92, Dated – 04/12/1992, communicated vide Memo No. 40982-41023/F.1/GO/Police/80 (Vol-II), Dated – 05/12/1992 after disbandment of TAP-1st & 2nd Battalion establishment vide Notification No. F.15 (66)-PD/92, dated – 23/11/1992.

FUNCTIONS:- SP(Procurement) is the indenting Officer for Procurement of Kits & Uniform items, equipments under Modernization Scheme,  different types of Arms & Ammunitions, Vehicles, Tyre/ Tubes of vehicles , MT Batteries and POL of vehicles etc and its distribution in respect of all units under Tripura Police Department. He is also the Estate Officer of A.D.Nagar Police Line.


ORGANISATIONAL SET- UP:-The following sub- units at A.D. Nagar Police Line Agartala are under the direct supervision of SP (Procurement) :-

i. Central Workshop & Armory :- Relates to Arms & Ammunitions matter.

ii. Central Store :- Relates to Kits & Uniforms , Modernization items etc.

iii. Central MT Pool :- Relates to MT fleet management including POL Procurement for 06 (Six) Fuel dispensing pumps under Tripura Police.

iv. Estate Affairs :- Relates to allotment of Quarters to the Police families at A.D.Nagar Police Line.

v. Sports Affairs :- Relates to sports activities of Tripura Police.

vi. Balwari School :- Relates to imparting pre primary level education to the Police Children up to the age group of 5 to 6 years.

vii. Family Welfare Centre :- Relates to looking after the family welfare activities.

viii. Police Hospital :- Relates to Health care of the Police families.

ix. Officer Mess :- Relates to the entertainment purpose of the Police Officers.

  

WELFARE MEASURES ADOPTED BY THE UNIT:- 
The following welfare measures are taken by the unit for Police families:-
i. Police Hospital having 2 MBBS Doctors apart from one Dental Surgeon with both indoor and outdoor patient facilities is being maintained.
ii. Different types of family quarters are being allotted to the serving police personnel.
iii. Felicitation programme for meritorious students of police families annually is being organized to encourage the police wards.
iv. Family welfare centre as well as family counseling centre is being maintained.
v. For entertainment purpose Central Kali puja & Durga puja are being organized.
vi. In the quarter lines Gas pipe line connection is being provided.
vii. One Gymnasium hall is being maintained.
viii. School bus facility for the police children of police quarters is being maintained.
ix. Street light facility is being provided in the complex.
x. There is one police Boys hostel for the wards of police personnel who are having no own accommodation at Agartala.
xi. One police NGOs mess, Women police NGOs mess and one police Girls Hostel are also proposed to be inaugurated within a short period.

ACHIEVEMENTS:-Tripura police Hockey team became champion in the North-East games held at Agartala in February   2009.  In the same year Rfn. Dharambir Jamatia of TSR 7th BN secured first position in 81 KM long distance swimming competition held at Berhampore, Murshidabad, West Bengal on the river GANGA. The following athletes of Tripura police team bagged Gold and Silver medal as noted against each in the North-East game in the year 2009-10.

Tripura Police Football team became League champion 2008 in the State organized by TFA.
