Brief of Incident : On 20.08.2002 at 0830 hrs an ambush took place laid by unknown armed extremist on way at Hirapur under the then Takarjala PS while escorting two sick TSR personnel from Amarendranagar TSR Post of 7th Bn TSR(IR-VI) to Bishramganj Hospital.

On 06.03.2007 at about 2015 hrs, a TSR party of Binan Hazari Post (1+9) led by L/NK Alok Das, came under the ambush of unknown extremists in the south side of Binan Hazari Post at distance of about 1km while performing area patrolling duty. In the ambush LNK Alok Das and Rfn Samir Choudhury subsequently sustained bullet injuries on their persons and succumbed to their injuries at the spot. Extremists simultaneously fired upon Binanhajari Camp and thereby prevented the other TSR personnel from re-enforcing the ops party under ambush. Exchange of firing continued from 2015 hrs to 2042 hrs. Exchange of fire stopped from the extremists’ side when 4 nos of 2” Mortar bomb was blasted by Rfn Sukhdeb Tripura.

On 06.03.2007 at about 2015 hrs, a TSR party of Binan Hazari Post (1+9) led by L/NK Alok Das, came under the ambush of Unknown extremists in the south side of Binan Hazari Post at distance of about 1km while performing area patrolling duty. The TSR party retaliated by firing upon the Extremists effectively. In the ambush LNK Alok Das and Rfn Samir Choudhury subsequently sustained bullet injuries on their persons and succumbed to their dead at the spot.

Pradip Bardhan was appointed in the 6th Battalion TSR on 04.11.1998. He hailed from Village-Haripur, PO-Sharma Gandacherra, PS- Sharma Gandacherra, District- Dhalai. On 26.10.2005, this valiant Rifleman sacrificed his life while fighting the extremists at Nandakumar Para, Champahaor PS, West Tripura District (undivided).

On 26.10.2005 at about 0745 hrs an Ops party 6th Bn TSR led by Hav (GD) Jiban Nandi and 21 ors, Ex-Namanjoy Bari post camp under ambush fire by the NLFT (BM) extremists while they were negotiating a narrow fool track in the deep jungle in between Nandakumar Para and Twichakrang under CPH PS. It is about 10 KM S/E from Tulashikhor TSR camp. The guide of the Ops party namely (one) No.98060488 Rfn Pradip Bardhan and most of the TSR Jawans of the said TSR party and came within the ambush zone when the NLFT extremists members who were waiting in ambush started opening fire from LMG, AK-47 and SLR. 7/8 Grenades were lobbed at the same . After that, the third Jawan Rfn Babul Mog and the fifth Jawan Hav Jiban Nandi continued firing, despite having serious injuries, they continued firing and could save the whole party from major disaster.

On 12.07.2004 at about 1645 hrs when one party of a co-ordinated ops consisting of Sub-01, Hav-4, L/NK- 03 and Rfn- 29 SI (UB)-01 and SPO-02 under leadership of Commandant was negotiating a foot track of about 45 degree height at Subal Kobra Para in Subal Kobra area 6 TSR, under Champahowar PS, came under heavy burst of firing from ATTF extremists. Effectively retaliation without loss of time took place immediately. The heavy exchange of firing lasted for about 15 minutes. It is estimated that the Exts fired about 200 to 250 rds. The Ops party also fired 269 Rds of different weapons and 03 bombs of 51 MM Mortar which did explode. The scout, No.98060391 Rfn Pradip Singh Rawat of 6th Bn TSR, E coy, who was only about 6/7 yards away from the extremists was hit by the first burst fire from the extremists on his upper chest part, knee joint of both of his legs causing multiple bullet injuries and also caused damage his Ak-47, before he could press the trigger of his own weapon and died on the spot.

On 29.08.2003 on the basis of secret information, one ops party from Ex- Ampura post led by Nb/Sub Hamant Kumar Bist and 22 others conducted ops in the area of Mare Haduk, Tuihaching bari area. At about 1215 hrs. all of a sudden, the extremist group opened fire aiming our troops . The exchange of fire lasted for 10/15 minutes. During encounter, one of our Jawan, namely Sanjit Kumar Debbarma S/O Shri Ashu Kumar Debbarma sustained bullet injury and subsequently he was shift to Khowai (RL) Hospital and later he was succumb to his injuries.

On 06.07.2003 a joint ops meeting was conducted by SP (West) on 05.07.2003, with local Police , AR and CRPF for Joint Operation. A contingent was led by Shri B.L Baidya (AC) along with 61 TSR personnel of Ex-Ampura post of this unit, conducted SPL OPS at Baijal Bari and its adjoining area. After operation when the vehicle with one detained suspected person namely Jogal Debbarma S/O:-Pada Kumar Debbarma of Belfung, escorted by 8(eight) TSR personnel led by Ex-Nk Asish Saha was just crossing Baijal Bari iron Bridge at about 0615 hrs on 06.07.2003, a land mine was blasted by the Exts. and as a result NK-Asish Saha and E/F Pradip Sukla Das died on the spot and the other 06(six) personnel were injured.
